The House Committee on Education and Labor began hearings today on the Employee Non-Discrimination Act.  This landmark civil rights legislation would prohibit employment discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identification.

ADA National Director, Michael J. Wilson, said: "ADA has opposed discrimination in all forms since our founding in 1947.  We are proud to support this landmark effort.  It is appaling to think a person could lose their livelihood because of of who they are.  Passing ENDA will rightly ensure that employment is based upon ability to perform the work and bring a fundamental fairness to the workplace for all Americans."
