Plan B for Bogus

John Boehner and his Tea Party bosses still don’t get it.
Even after the American people loudly demanded tax fairness in last month’s elections, the House Speaker thinks he can shower even more tax breaks on some of the nation’s wealthiest households and pay for it by short-changing seniors, students, working families and the poor. He calls it “Plan B”—the “b” apparently stands for bogus, because it offers no real solution for avoiding the fiscal cliff.
Call your member of Congress today at (202) 225-3121. Demand a “no” vote on Speaker Boehner’s Bogus “Plan B” and instead support a balanced approach to our economic recovery, one that demands the most from those with the most to give.
Boehner’s plan would extend Bush-era tax giveaways on households making nearly a million dollars a year. It would cost us a trillion dollars over the next decade, money the GOP would make up by reducing inflation adjustments for Social Security recipients, restricting access to Medicare, and ending tax relief for the working class.
Tell Congress to reject Boehner’s Bogus Plan B today!  Call the Capitol switchboard at (202) 225-3121 today.  Don't know who your Representative is?  Look it up on our Contact Lawmakers tool.
And while you’re at it, tell your member to support President Obama’s original plan to end tax breaks for families making over $250,000—the top 2%--and not to accept cuts in Social Security cost-of-living adjustments. Democrats must not negotiate away bedrock principles: higher taxes on the top 2% must be central to any deficit deal, and cuts to Social Security must be off the table.
