What's the Annual Roosevelt's Day Dinner? It started when Eleanor Roosevelt, one of ADA's founders, hosted an annual dinner party in New York City. Over 60 years later, ADA still continues the tradition. The Roosevelt Day Dinner was meant to symbolize the alliance between liberals and labor in support of working families. Among the New Deal’s most impressive achievements were the right to organize, minimum wage and overtime, and the creation of social security, issues that liberals and labor fought for and won together. In 2010, we continue that struggle in the fight for comprehensive health care reform, immigration reform, and strengthening the right to organize by enacting the Employee Free Choice Act.

This year, NYC ADA is honoring Stuart Applebaum, President of the Retail, Wholesale, and Department Store Workers Union ( RWDSU) and International Vice President of the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union (UFCW).
     ... and...
Joseph T. Hansen, President of the United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) is the Honorary Dinner Chairman.
