The wait is over. The latest edition of ADA's quarterly publication, ADA Today, was released, today featuring articles by Sen. Sherrod Brown, Rep. Dennis Kucinich, Randi Weingarten, and James Roosevelt, Jr. Other stories include highlights from ADA's banquet honoring House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi, and other progressive heroes.

Warning the country is “at risk” from “dangerous” right-wing extremism, “Super Committee” member and former presidential candidate Sen. John Kerry (D-MA), speaking at a recent Americans for Democratic Action banquet, said of the current field of GOP White House hopefuls: “It’s absolutely stunning that any of them are legitimate candidates for president of the United States.”

Kerry’s remarks are part of a full report on the ADA awards banquet—which honored House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi and two other liberal luminaries—found in the latest issue of ADA Today, the organization’s quarterly publication of news and opinion, published today and available here.

The fall issue also features essays by two Ohio Democrats in Congress, Sen. Sherrod Brown—on his bill to fight unfair Chinese trade—and Rep. Dennis Kucinich, who makes the case for immediate withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan. Three national union presidents, including Randi Weingarten of the American Federation of Teachers, weigh in on the jobs crisis; FDR’s grandson, James Roosevelt, Jr. strikes back at the budget-cutters in defense of his grandfather’s greatest legacy, Social Security; and a descendant of former Rep. Gus Hawkins—co-author of the Humphrey-Hawkins Full Employment Act—rallies support for President Obama’s American Jobs Act.
