ADA Statement on Election Victories

Updates >>

ADA is buoyed by the results of the election.

A second term for President Obama and a Senate saved from the hands of a tea party takeover give us a chance to move forward.  Also, the historic wins in Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, and Washington for marriage equality proved once again that we are on the right side of history.

The road will not be easy. We must strengthen the resolve of our allies in Congress and hold accountable our adversaries. ADA will not abandon our core values in the name of compromise and neither should you.

ADA and our Working Families Win project are already poised to play a critical role in the lame duck session of Congress that will begin soon. Many critical issues (such as the Bush tax-cuts, debt ceiling increase, appropriation bills, unemployment benefits extension, and more) could be resolved and we need your help to resolve them in the most progressive way possible by holding the left flank.

Please make a contribution to our efforts now to aid our work in the next few months as we add staff in key communities, prepare materials to strengthen our positions, and help activists like you stay prepared.

Thank you for your support and all the hard work you have done and will do.

In solidarity,

Don Kusler
ADA Executive Director
