No on 1 - Protect Maine Equality
ADA National Director Michael J. Wilson: "We will join the battle against discrimination in full partnership with No on 1/Protect Maine Equality so the LGBT community no longer has to fight this battle alone.” ADA even sent field staff to Maine. Although we did not win in Maine, the battle for equal rights and marriage equality continues across the U.S. with ADA standing as an ally. In August 2009, Americans for Democratic Action joined the No on 1/Protect Maine Equality campaign to advocate for marriage equality. ADA worked to organize our LGBT members across the country, our members in Maine and all allies of the LGBT community in support of protecting equality.
