Policy Statement- Military Intervention: Iran and the Rest of the World

Adopted 2007

In light of resolution 512, ADA is opposed to any military action in Iran. With regard to military intervention around the world, ADA calls on the U.S. to adhere to the following three guidelines:

  1. Any force must be multi-national, preferably sanctioned by the U.N.
  2. Military intervention must have prior congressional approval.
  3. The goals of any military intervention must be clearly stated before the operation is authorized by Congress.
