ADA CommissionsThe Convention commissions have a long history of providing ADA with the policy directives on which it bases its legislative advocacy. The commissions also give ADA members the opportunity to participate directly in the formulation of these policy guidelines. A few years ago, ADA decided that commissions should meet year-round via email to address all relevant issues facing the nation, propose new policies, revise and update existing resolutions. New policies must be presented to the National Board by the commissions. At the 2010 convention, each commission will propose a limited number of key issues to constitute the liberal agenda on which ADA should take action in the year ahead. You may participate in whichever commission interests you the most. Your expert knowledge will be a big asset. Please help us by participating in the important work of the commissions. There are four subject areas, each covered by one of our commissions: The four commissions are: 1. Social & Domestic Policy Please e-mail karen@adaction.org and let us know which commission you will join. |
