ADA 2009 National BanquetADA held the 62nd annual banquet at the Mandarin Oriental on June 5, 2009. This years banquet was honoring former Labor Secretary Robert Reich and long-time ADA National Director Amy Isaacs. One of the highlights of the night was when ADA President, Richard Parker presented former Labor Secretary Robert Reich with John Kenneth Galbraith's academic robes-- Robert Reich is 4 feet 10.5 inches tall and John Kenneth Galbraith was almost 7 feet. Steelworkers President, Leo Gerard gave a moving speech about our current economic state and the steps that we must take to secure a strong future. Representatives Barney Frank and Jim McDermott also gave warming remarks about ADA and Amy Isaacs, who is retiring. Rep. John Conyers also spoke to the crowd about the current health care fight on the hill. Thank you to everyone that attended and helped to make the night a success. Couldn't attend the banquet?
